“Extraction” (2020) is an action-thriller film directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo. The story revolves around Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a black market mercenary with a haunted past, who is hired to rescue Ovi Mahajan Jr. (Rudhraksh Jaiswal), the kidnapped son of an Indian crime lord.
Set in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the plot begins when Ovi is abducted by Amir Asif (Priyanshu Painyuli), a ruthless Bangladeshi drug lord, in an attempt to exert power over Ovi’s father. Tyler Rake, known for his lethal skills and fearless nature, is tasked with extracting Ovi. However, what starts as a straightforward mission quickly turns into a deadly and complex ordeal as Tyler faces overwhelming odds, including corrupt police, military forces, and relentless waves of gang members.

The film also features Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), Blade’s mentor and ally, who provides him with weapons and technology to fight the vampire menace. Dr. Karen Jenson (N’Bushe Wright) is a hematologist who becomes involved with Blade after he saves her from a vampire attack, and she helps him in his quest.

“Wrath of Man” (2021) is an action thriller film directed by Guy Ritchie, based on the 2004 French film “Le Convoyeur” (Cash Truck) by Nicolas Boukhrief. The film stars Jason Statham, Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, and Scott Eastwood.

The Raid is a 2011Indonesian action thriller film written, directed and edited by Gareth Evans. The film stars Iko Uwais, who previously worked with Evans in another action film, Merantau, released in 2009. In the film, an elite squad is tasked to infiltrate a high-rise building run by a ruthless drug lord in the slums of Jakarta; among them is Rama (played by Uwais), a veteran member of the team.
After its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), The Raid received positive reviews from critics. The name of the film was changed to The Raid: Redemption in the United States as distributor Sony Pictures Classics could not secure the rights to the title; it also allowed Evans to plan out future titles in the series.The US release of the film features a film score composed by Mike Shinoda and Joseph Trapanese. It was released in the United States on DVD and Blu-ray on 14 August 2012. A sequel, The Raid 2, was released in 2014. Both films showcase the traditional Indonesian martial art of pencak silat, with fight choreography led by Uwais and Yayan Ruhian. A third film was considered but Evans decided not to go forward with the project.
