In early February, police officers in New Castle, Pennsylvania, were responding to a reported burglary at an apartment when they were met with a heartbreaking discovery.

In a shut room located on the 2nd flooring of the home, a tiny puppy had been locked inside an upstairs bedroom — and she was so starved that every bone in her body was visible.

The 10-week-old mongrel puppy was called Miranda. Severely anemic and emaciated, the 10-week-old puppy was so weak that she couldn’t stand or lift her head

The men did not know how much time she had actually been locked in that location. However, her little body betrayed the unjust therapy she had actually gone through.

Her mom or other siblings were nowhere to be found — and rescuers estimated she had been locked in the room by herself for at least three weeks.

“In the beginning, we weren’t sure that she’d make it,” Druschel said. “She was just so weak and emaciated. But she wouldn’t stop wagging her tail. It was going constantly.”

The creature was cadaverous as well as the policemen did not doubt momentarily that they need to get it out of there.

Those cute little eyes needed immediate help. The unshaven girl was not only emaciated but anemic. The policemen removed her from the area and moved her to a university hospital the next day.

Miranda completed her therapy at the Lawrence Region Humane Society shelter. Yet the police officers who existed during the rescue were tasked with seeing her regularly to check her progress.

Throughout the next few weeks, Miranda continued putting on weight and rescuers were amazed at how well she was doing. The skeletal-looking puppy looked completely different, and she was running and playing like any other sweet puppy her age would.

After the men agreed, the fortunate one to become his papa was police officer Mark Lewis. Mark presented gladly with his new canine child.

After that bitter episode in which her life was in risk, Miranda has a loving and also liable owner that is expected to look after her.
