Meet Pusha, a sweet mama cat who adopted four orphaned squirrels in a park in Bakhchisaray, Crimea.
Adorable photographs show the young red squirrels cuddling up to their adoptive mother and climbing all over her.
They were found by a good samaritan who brought them in to be rescued.
The squirrels were brought to the wildlife park when they were four weeks old and they hadn’t even opened their eyes yet. The park keepers knew that the squirrels needed a mother to grow and survive.
Thankfully, Pusha the cat had just recently given birth to a litter of four kittens. So, the staff decided to see if Pusha would accept the squirrel babies and foster them with her babies. Much to their surprise, it worked! Pusha quickly adopted the squirrels and cared for them as if they were her own.
After a short time, the abandoned baby squirrels start enjoying their new life with their new mama and siblings. They sleep, eat and play together in a wonderful family that we’ve ever seen!
The squirrels and the kittens follow their adoptive mother around and fight over their mother’s milk. The group sleep, eat and play together and all seem to have gotten used to their unusual family arrangement
Pusha made the best foster mom! Her love is so strong that the squirrels already seem to think of her as their mom. This family shows that love knows no species and now they live together as one happy family – both kittens and squirrels!
