Luis Elizondo led a secret UFO investigation program known as the Aerospace Threat Identification Advanced Program (AATI) from 2007 to 2012, funded by the US government, which spent $ 22 million from the Department of Defense’s $ 600 billion annual budget.

Elizondo:

“What if it turns out that there is another species that is even higher on this ladder than we are? Are we going to need the social institutions and religious organizations we have today? If there’s something or someone technologically superior and perhaps more advanced evolutionary-wise, then do we really need them? Is it a waste of time? Or are we doing exactly what we should be doing?”

“What if it turns out that humanity is actually just another animal in the zoo? What if we were to see ourselves in the role as zookeepers before? What would this mean to us?”

“There will come a time when we have to come to terms with ourselves, whatever that means, whatever philosophical point of view you take. This will impact all of us. This is something I believe is very important. Is history in danger? That’s what I meant”.

This hypothesis is a continuation of Charles Fort’s assertion that some non-human mind essentially rules the Earth as a prison or an anthill to watch us, and it underlies the claims of a “prison planet” by some modern theorists of ancient astronauts.

He may have been the first to explain the strange appearances and disappearances human beings with the alien abduction hypothesis.

Note that there is a distinct echo of Christian millenarianism in Elizondo’s suggestion that alien existence would require the overthrow of social, political, and cultural structures in favor of a new, more utopian world dominated by a higher heavenly power.

It is hard not to see in his words about the “human zoo” – the Christian Apocalypse from Revelation, reinterpreted in scientific terms.

A similar hypothesis can also be seen in the case of Matilda O’Donnell McElroy, a senior master sergeant in the Women’s Army Air Force’s medical service. She claimed to have interviewed an alien named “Airl” who survived the 1947 Roswell disaster. The creature explained to her where they were from and why they came here.

Interviews with Aliens author Lawrence R. Spencer claims to have received information from Matilda about a series interview with Airl in a letter. She stated that Domain Expeditionary Force, an alien race, has been operating in the solar systems for 10,000 years.

Matilda wrote in her notes:

“The Earth is a small planet at the edge of the galaxy. This places the Earth at the edge of the galaxy, far from the more dense planetary civilizations in the middle. These obvious facts made the Earth suitable for use only as a zoological or botanical garden, or for its current use as a prison – but not for much else.”
