For the most part, people on the internet debated whether this is an alien missile or a statue of some kind, and we really don’t know for sure.
Skeptics have said that it’s all a matter of experience, claiming that if we got close enough, we’d see that it’s nothing like an alien cannon to begin with.
Still, seeing that this is the only image we have to deal with, it shouldn’t come as a surprise the that idea was largely overlooked.
So, what exactly are we looking at here? Is this, after all, some kind of Martian weapon?
Experts believe that is because it may very well be the ancient defensive mechanisms that Martians built on their surface.
As far as we know, it may be an anti-aircraft weapon, as it resembles a cannon protruding from the ground up.
This may be ample evidence that it’s designed to fire into the atmosphere, since the tube frame is most likely designed as a weapon that can fire whatever it finds threatening into the sky.
