The fall and winter season is the first sign of the holidays for some and the beginning of others’ tough times. While the holiday is such an incredible time for family and friends, others know it’s the beginning of the cold and difficult seasons.
While many humans can find refuge in homeless shelters and programs during the cold months, dogs often don’t have those things available to them. Thankfully, one bus station in Brazil took matters into their own hands.
Employees of the Barreirinha bus terminal in Curitiba, Brazil, set a good example to the world, as they opened the terminal’s door to homeless dogs, and gave them special beds to protect them from the winter cold. There were three dogs seen on the station’s premises, and their names are Pitoco, Zoinho, and Max.
Instead of passively watching dozens of stray dogs look for places to sleep at night, this bus station threw open its doors for them! At night, when the temperature drops, the Barreirinha bus station allows any stray dog to come into the warmth and spend a toasty night hidden from the freezing cold!
The employees didn’t just give these dogs home for winter, they even made some DIY beds made out of tires lined with blankets, to keep them warm and cozy through the cold nights. Their goodwill was noticed by politician Fabiane Rosa, and she shared some photos on Facebook, that quickly went viral.
A little act of kindness can surely make this world a better place. May this be an inspiration to other businesses and even individuals out there to share some love for homeless dogs and spark a series of random acts of kindness around us.
A great post without any doubt.
