AVATAR: The Last Airbender Trailer (2024)

A new image has been revealed from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The upcoming Netflix show is a live-action rendering of the classic Nickelodeon animated show of the same name. Set in a world where gifted people can manipulate or “bend” one of the four elements, it follows a young Airbender named Aang (Gordon Cormier) who is the Avatar, a reincarnated being with the power to unite the elements.

He embarks on a perilous adventure with siblings Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) to master the elements and stop the Fire Nation from conquering the world.

Although Sokka’s face is turned away from the camera, this new image is one of the closest looks yet at the core trio since the Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer was released in November. Although there are a variety of important characters that will either join or oppose them on their quest, including the disgraced Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) and his sister Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu), Aang, Katara, and Sokka are perhaps the most important overall. Their adventures will challenge and eventually strengthen their bond, so the actors bringing them to life are key to the show.

The story revolves around Eli, a nomad in a post-apocalyptic world who seeks to deliver his copy of a mysterious book to a safe location on the West Coast of the United States. It received mixed reviews from critics, but earned $157.1 million in the worldwide box office on a budget of $80 million.

Thirty years after a nuclear holocaust caused an ecocide, Eli travels on foot across the wasteland of the former United States. Wearing sunglasses and ragged clothes, he demonstrates uncanny survival and fighting skills.

Searching for water, he arrives in a ramshackle town ruled by a warlord named Carnegie, who seeks to control the people through the power of a certain book, which his henchmen have been unable to find.

Eli barters with a store owner, the Engineer, to recharge the battery of his portable music player. At the town bar, he is attacked by a gang of bikers but swiftly kills them all. Impressed, Carnegie invites Eli to join his employ, but Eli declines. Realizing Eli is a literate man like himself, Carnegie forces him to stay the night under guard. Carnegie’s blind mistress Claudia brings Eli food and water and Carnegie orders her daughter Solara to seduce Eli, but he rebuffs her. Solara sees Eli has a book, and he offers to share his food, saying grace before they eat. In the morning, Carnegie overhears Solara repeating the prayer to her mother and realizes Eli has the book he has been seeking: a Bible.

Eli sneaks away, but Carnegie and his henchmen confront him in the street. When Eli refuses to give up the book, Carnegie orders him killed; the ensuing battle leaves Eli untouched, but many henchmen dead and Carnegie shot in the leg. Solara catches up to Eli and leads him to the town’s water supply, hoping to accompany him, but he traps her inside and continues alone. Solara escapes and is ambushed by two bandits who attempt to rape her, but Eli reappears and kills them.

Continuing toward the West Coast, Eli explains his mission: his is the last remaining copy of the Bible since all other copies were intentionally destroyed following the nuclear war. He says that he was led to the book by a voice in his head, directing him to travel westward to a place it would be safe, and assuring that he would be protected and guided on his journey.

FOUR BROTHERS 2 Teaser (2024)

Four Brothers is a 2005 American action film directed by John Singleton. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund as four adopted brothers who set out to avenge the murder of their adoptive mother. The film was shot in Detroit, Michigan and the Greater Toronto Area. It has been described as blaxploitation-influenced. Released on August 12, 2005, the film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $92 million worldwide.

An elderly woman, Evelyn Mercer, is murdered at a convenience store in Highland Park, Michigan when a robbery occurs that results in the death of the store clerk, and Evelyn was left as the one and only witness. The incident brings her four adoptive sons back home to Detroit, Michigan to find out what happened. The oldest is a lifelong criminal, hot-tempered Bobby; the second oldest is family man and Union construction worker Jeremiah; the third oldest is an ex-hustler and former US Marine, Angel; and the youngest is aspiring rock musician Jack.

Originally under the impression the crime was a simple robbery gone wrong, the brothers chase down and interrogate a false witness to the police, after which the brothers discover that the robbery was a cover for a hit put out on Evelyn. The brothers track down the pair of hired guns who shot and killed Evelyn, and after refusing to give up any information, the two hitmen are executed by the enraged Bobby and Angel. The next day, Detroit Police Lieutenant Green and Detective Fowler confront the brothers about the murders. While the brothers deny involvement, Lieutenant Green warns them that their interference with Evelyn’s case is ill-advised and that it will put them in over their heads.

SHERLOCK HOLMES 3

Robert Downey Jr.’s acclaimed sleuth is back in a fan-made trailer for Sherlock Holmes 3. When last seen in the sequel A Game of Shadows, Sherlock Holmes had supposedly plummeted to his death whilst defeating arch-nemesis Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris).

However, just before the credits ran, it was revealed that – as in the book – Holmes found a way to escape the dreaded Swiss waterfall. Despite this, it seemed he decided not to disclose his valiant survival to anyone, leaving his family, friends, and colleagues to believe that he was truly gone for good.

Although Warner Bros.’ action-packed reboot of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous creation has received positive reception since its first outing with Sherlock Holmes in 2009, its future as a series since the second film has been less concrete.

Various script amendments and changes of director have affected development on the third installment.

Despite the fact Downey Jr. is now free of his Marvel commitments and Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher is confirmed to helm Sherlock Holmes 3 after Guy Ritchie’s work on the first two movies, there’s still no word on when a release date or even filming schedule will be forthcoming. In October 2020, Fletcher stated the project is on hold.
