BLADE Teaser Trailer (2024)
Blade is a 1998 American superhero horror film directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer. Based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name, it is the first installment of the Blade franchise.
The film stars Wesley Snipes as the titular character with Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson and N’Bushe Wright in supporting roles. In the film, Blade is a Dhampir, a human with vampire strengths but not their weaknesses, who together with his mentor Abraham Whistler and hematologist Karen Jenson, fights against vampires, namely the exceptionally vicious Deacon Frost.
Released on August 21, 1998, Blade was a commercial success, grossing $70 million at the U.S. box office, and $131.2 million worldwide. Despite mixed reviews from film critics, the film received a positive reception from audiences and has since garnered a cult following.
It is also hailed as one of Snipes’ signature roles. It was followed by two sequels, Blade II and Blade: Trinity, both written by Goyer who also directed the latter. Blade was a dark superhero film for its time. The success of Blade began Marvel’s film success and set the stage for further comic book film adaptations
“Blade (2024)” marks the much-anticipated return of the iconic vampire hunter to the big screen, with Mahershala Ali stepping into the role made famous by Wesley Snipes.
Directed by Yann Demange, the film brings a fresh take on the Marvel antihero, blending horror and superhero elements in a way that pays homage to the original while carving out its own unique space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Mahershala Ali delivers a powerful performance as Blade, bringing a mix of intensity, charisma, and a deep sense of internal conflict to the character. His portrayal captures both the ferocity of a vampire hunter and the burden of his half-human, half-vampire nature. The supporting cast, including Aaron Pierre and Delroy Lindo, add depth to the story, each contributing to Blade’s complex world of shadows and blood.
The film’s tone is darker than most MCU entries, with a strong emphasis on horror and gothic aesthetics. The action sequences are sleek and brutal, reminiscent of the original “Blade” trilogy but with updated choreography and special effects that elevate the visceral experience. The film also explores themes of identity, legacy, and the moral ambiguity of Blade’s quest, making it more than just a typical action movie.
The film isn’t without its flaws. Some critics might argue that the pacing could be uneven, with certain scenes lingering too long while others feel rushed. Additionally, while the horror elements are effective, they may not fully satisfy fans looking for a more traditional superhero movie.
“Blade (2024)” successfully reintroduces the character to a new generation while staying true to the dark, gritty roots that made the original films a cult favorite. It’s a bold and exciting addition to the MCU, one that promises more supernatural adventures in the future.

Wednesday 2 (2024)
Wednesday is an American coming-of-age supernatural comedy horror television series based upon the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, it stars Jenna Ortega as the title character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci appearing in supporting roles.
Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer. It revolves around the titular character, who attempts to solve a monster mystery at her school.
Burton was previously associated with two Addams Family-related projects: the 1991 film, which he passed on, and a cancelled stop-motion animated film. In October 2020, he was reported to be helming a television series, which was later given a series order by Netflix.
Filming took place in Romania between September 2021 and March 2022. Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Ortega’s performance but found some similarities to CW dramas. Within two weeks of release, it became the third-most watched English-language Netflix series.
“Wednesday” Season 2, the continuation of the hit Netflix series, delves deeper into the life of Wednesday Addams as she navigates the dark and quirky world of Nevermore Academy. Season 1 left fans craving more of the gothic teen’s sardonic wit, supernatural mysteries, and the eerie charm of the Addams family.
In Season 2, Wednesday is faced with even more complex challenges, both in her personal life and in the supernatural world around her. The show continues to blend horror, comedy, and mystery, offering a unique mix that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The narrative takes unexpected twists, revealing deeper layers of the characters, especially Wednesday, who grows more multifaceted as she confronts new threats and uncovers hidden secrets.
The performances remain strong, with Jenna Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday and bringing an even more nuanced portrayal of the character. The supporting cast also shines, with the return of familiar faces and the introduction of new characters that add depth to the story. The show’s dark humor and gothic aesthetic are as captivating as ever, with visually stunning scenes that enhance the eerie atmosphere.
However, some viewers might feel that the plot occasionally drags, with a few episodes focusing too much on side stories rather than the central mystery. Despite this, the season overall delivers a satisfying continuation of Wednesday’s story, balancing her evolution as a character with the show’s signature blend of the macabre and the humorous.
“Wednesday” Season 2 is a must-watch for fans of the first season and anyone who enjoys a darkly comedic take on the supernatural. It continues to build on the rich lore of the Addams family while carving out a distinct identity for Wednesday herself.
