“The Time Machine” is a 2002 American science fiction film loosely adapted from H.G. Wells’ classic novel. Alexander Hartdegen (played by Guy Pearce), a scientist and inventor in 1880s Victorian England, is determined to prove that time travel is possible.
Driven by personal tragedy, he tests his theories using a time machine of his own invention. The machine propels him 800,000 years into the future, where he discovers a world divided into two warring races: the hunter and the hunted.
