A new Pope banks “Wake” rituals in churches – LGBTQ+, multiple gender identity and social awakening declared “False heroes”

Rome, Vatican City – May 10, 2025
In an act that is shaking the world religious and cultural panorama, the newly elected Pope, Pope Innocenzius XIV, has issued an uncompromising decree that prohibits all “Woke” rituals and social justice theme practices in Catholic churches around the world.
The announcement came during his first public speech from the Balconata del Vaticano, where he denounced what he called the “spiritual decline of modern activism masked by theology”.
“There is only one God, one truth and one creation. Gender confusion, the parades of pride with sacred guise and the exaltation of the victimization as holiness will not find altar here,” he proclaimed.
Prohibited: lgbtq+masses, pride themed predictions and neutral gender language
With immediate effect, the Vatican Directive is aimed at practices observed in progressive parishes, such as the exposure of the rainbow flag on the altars, neutral gender blessings and inclusive masses for the LGBTQ+community. These rituals, said the Pope, are not “expressions of love, but distortions of the sacred tradition.”
“We didn’t start political parties. We are not theaters for cultural trends. We are the Church,” the Pope has thundered.
Recognition of multiple genres called “antibiblic”
Even more controversial, the decree requires that all references to multiple gender identities are removed from the texts of the catechism and by the educational programs. The clergy is forbidden to celebrate gender affirmation ceremonies or use pronouns not consistent with biological sex in liturgical celebrations.
This edict is already arousing shock waves in the seminars and dioceses who had embraced inclusive language and teachings.
“Social awakening” labeled as a secular religion
Perhaps the most daring part of the decree is what defines the “cult of social justice”, including the predicted themes on the Black Lives Matter movement, the veglions on climate change and liturgies focused on equity, as a “false religion”.
“There are many who now kneel before ideologies, not before God,” says the document signed deus primus, populus secundus (God before, the second people).
Global indignation meets traditional applause
As expected, liberal theologians, LGBTQ+ activists and progressive politicians reacted with indignation.
Father Miguel Ramirez, a priest from New York, defined the gesture a “spiritual betrayal of the compassion of Christ”, while Catholic Twitter exploded with hashtags as #papafuoricontatto and #dioeamore.
In the meantime, traditionalist groups and conservative Catholics have greeted the move as “great purification”. The right -wing commentators nicknamed the new pope “The hammer of the heresy”.
Final considerations (Opinion):
Are you Pope Innocenzius XIV by saving the Church from moral relativism, or is it bringing it back in the dark centuries? One thing is certain: the war between faith and modernity has reached its most ferocious chapter.
