Kanye West’s autographed vinyl with anti-Adidas message goes up for auction.

A Kanye West album signed by the rapper himself has sold for an impressive sum – thanks to a specific message he sent Adidas while signing a fan’s album during a trip to Paris.
In February this year, as he left The Ritz hotel in the French capital, along with his wife Bianca Censori, the Chicago rap icon was surrounded by a group of fans who began shouting “F*ck Adidas”. Kanye West later confirmed the message when asked to sign a vinyl copy of his 2010 album.
The item is a vinyl copy of the album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”, on which Kanye West wrote “F*CK ADIDAS” and “YE” on the cover. The incident occurred during a meet-and-greet between the rapper and his fans, in February this year. Now, months after the curious signature, Kanye West’s album has been put up for auction by Moment in Time and the winner will have to pay a hefty price, with the seller bidding no less than $500,000 to get his hands on the rare item.
At the time, Kanye West was ramping up his campaign against former business partners Adidas, criticizing them for selling a new version of the 350 sneakers derived from his Yeezy brand. “Anyone who loves Ye will not buy these fake Yeezys. I never made these colorways, I didn’t make anything from them and Adidas is suing me,” he wrote on Instagram.
In a video posted hours later, the rapper said: “Let me explain clearly what’s going on with Adidas. Because not only are they releasing new fake colorways that aren’t approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re not paying me for the shoes they’re releasing with my name on them.” Adidas ended its lucrative partnership with Yeezy in October 2022 after the rapper made a number of anti-Semitic statements, with the sportswear giant also freezing profits that were supposed to be paid to Kanye.
