Lando Norris gives “F-rated” reaction to replay of his crash at Singapore GP following Max Verstappen’s penalty for bad language

Lando Norris delivered an X-rated response when watching his close shave at the Singapore Grand Prix.

McLaren superstar Norris produced a masterclass as he led from start to finish to win the Singapore Grand Prix around the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday.

However, Norris did encounter some nervy moments during the race as he made contact with the wall on two occasions.

After the race, the replays of Norris’ close shaves were shown in the cool-down room. Reacting to the footage, the 24-year-old turned to Max Verstappen and said: “I actually s**t myself.” You can watch the footage below, the video contains strong language.

Norris’ teammate Oscar Piastri then joked: “So without using swear words how did you feel when you did that moment?”

Swearing has been a big talking point this weekend after the FIA’s clamp down on the bad language used within the sport.

Verstappen became the first victim of the new regulation after being handed an ‘obligation to accomplish some work of public interest’ as a result of his swearing during Thursday’s press conference.

Speaking about his near misses after the race, Norris said: “It’s not that you are necessarily over-pushing, sometimes it can even be that you are just chilling too much.

“Maybe it was a bit of both, I don’t know what it is.”

He added: “It’s tricky. It’s still tough put there and easy to lock the tyres as I did. I still pushed, I didn’t want to have a one-second lead, I wanted to have the biggest lead possible.”

On his race in general, Norris said: “It was an amazing race.

“A few too many close calls – I had a couple of little moments in the middle – but it was well controlled, I think, otherwise.

“The car was mega. I could push, we were flying the whole race, and at the end could just chill. So it was a nice race, still tough, I’m a bit out of breath, but a fun one.”
