Elon Musk Faces Backlash Over Controversial Comments on X Regarding Donald Trump

Elon Musk recently drew criticism for a controversial post on X (formerly Twitter) related to former President Donald Trump, who narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. In a now-deleted post, Musk questioned why there had been two assassination attempts on Trump but not on President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, referencing the incident from September 15.

The remark sparked immediate backlash, with many users condemning it as irresponsible and dangerous. AI expert Gary Marcus responded sharply, stating, “If anyone acts against Biden or Harris, we must consider Musk’s role in any related violence. Elon is not okay.” Others labeled his comments as “horrific,” “indefensible,” and “reckless.”
According to *Business Insider*, Musk often shares controversial opinions and rarely admits fault, but this time he quickly deleted the post. Initially, he claimed people had misunderstood him, but later he reflected on the incident.
On September 16, Musk wrote, “Yes, that’s the lesson I learned. Just because something is funny to a small group doesn’t mean it will be funny when posted on social media.” He further noted, “It turns out, jokes are much less humorous if people don’t understand the context or the written format.”
