While Sainz was given a five-second penalty for the incident, Verstappen argued that the penalty was insufficient and that Sainz should have been disqualified.

“I think it’s pretty clear who was at fault,” Verstappen said after the race. “It’s unfair that he gets away with it. It’s a shame for the sport. They [the FIA] need to be consistent. If you give a penalty, give a proper penalty.”
