Brown celebrated her 46th birthday on September 6, and Minaj honored the hip-hop revolutionary during her performance at the Pittsburgh stop of her highly acclaimed ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour.’ The designated tour DJ, DJ Boof, played some of Brown’s classic tracks, including her hit “Get You Home” with Blackstreet. Minaj encouraged her fans to wish “King Fox” a happy birthday online.
While scrolling through X/Twitter, Minaj came across a tweet from one of her fans, praising Brown’s beauty. The fan wrote: “#HBDKINGFOX LIKE JUST LOOK AT HER @NICKIMINAJ.” Minaj responded enthusiastically, reminiscing about their first meeting. She tweeted, “Like?!?!! FROM BIRTH!!!! BIRTH!!! The first time I met her on The Come Up DVD, I couldn’t stop complimenting her. Looked better in person. Soft ass beautiful skin. From hair to toe.”
Minaj recalled how Foxy always held her own in the male-dominated industry, describing her as an inspiration. “You listen to Foxy Brown with n****s and feel like, ‘Here comes the female part.’ She always makes a n**** wanna rewrite [their] shit,” Minaj said, emphasizing Foxy’s powerful presence. She added, “From day one […] she [has] always been a boss bitch, but she always made me feel like, ‘Yo! I really like you,’ and that was big coming from her.”
