“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is a 2021 action-adventure television miniseries created by Malcolm Spellman for Disney+. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” (2019). The series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson (The Falcon) and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), reprising their roles from the MCU films.
The story picks up with Sam Wilson struggling to accept the mantle of Captain America, which was handed to him by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) at the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” Despite his initial reluctance, Sam is determined to honor Steve’s legacy while grappling with the societal and personal implications of taking on such a significant role.
Meanwhile, Bucky Barnes is dealing with his own set of challenges as he tries to make amends for his past actions as the brainwashed assassin known as the Winter Soldier. His journey towards redemption is fraught with guilt and the struggle to find his place in a world that has changed drastically.
