The Karate Kid (1984) is a classic coming-of-age martial arts film directed by John G. Avildsen and starring Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, and Elisabeth Shue.
The story follows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), a teenager who moves to a new town and struggles to fit in at his new high school. He becomes the target of bullies, particularly a group of karate-trained students led by the formidable Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
