On June 3, 2025, A.J. Foyt Racing and its long-time sponsor, ABC Supply, celebrated a remarkable milestone in their charitable endeavors. In connection with the 109th Indianapolis 500, the two organizations successfully raised an impressive $4.7 million for the charity Home For Our Troops. The charity’s logo was proudly displayed on the #14 car driven by Santino Ferrucci, helping to raise awareness and encourage donations during the highly publicized event held on May 25.
A.J. Foyt Racing’s partnership with Home For Our Troops began in 2020, and since then, the team has been actively involved in supporting the charity’s mission to help severely injured veterans rebuild their lives after the tragic events of 9/11. The funds raised through the Indianapolis 500 campaign are being used to construct specially adapted homes for veterans, as well as provide financial support to help them regain independence and stability.
Santino Ferrucci expressed his pride in driving the Homes For Our Troops car, acknowledging the significant impact of the funds raised. “It was an honor to drive the Homes For Our Troops car in the Indianapolis 500 and extremely rewarding to know that they not only met their goal but exceeded it – again,” Ferrucci said. He added, “Raising over $4 million is incredible, and it will help a lot of our severely injured post-9/11 veterans. Those funds will go a long way in building multiple houses for them, helping them financially, and getting their lives back on track.”
The success of the Indianapolis 500 race also reflected A.J. Foyt Racing’s resurgence as a competitive force in the sport. David Malukas finished in second place, while Santino Ferrucci secured a solid fifth place finish. This marked the team’s first podium finish and a double top-10 result in over 25 years, signaling a new era of strong performance and competitiveness for A.J. Foyt Racing.
However, the team’s success was marred by a penalty at the Detroit Grand Prix on June 1. After the race, Ferrucci’s #14 car was found to be underweight by 1.8 pounds during the post-race inspection. As a result, the team was penalized with a $25,000 fine, the forfeiture of championship points, and the loss of prize money.
In a statement issued on June 2, A.J. Foyt Racing acknowledged the penalty and took full responsibility for the oversight. “Our car was, in fact, 10 pounds over the minimum total weight, and the discrepancy in ballast was not intended to gain a competitive advantage,” the team said. “We recognize that compliance with every rule is critical to ensuring fairness in this sport, no matter how minor the deviation may seem. We are working closely with our technical team to strengthen our processes and ensure this does not happen again.”
Despite the setback at Detroit, A.J. Foyt Racing remains optimistic for the remainder of the season. With consistent top-10 finishes from David Malukas, the team is focused on maintaining their strong performance and building on their momentum as the season progresses. The achievements off the track, alongside the on-track successes, continue to solidify A.J. Foyt Racing’s place as a team to watch in 2025.
