The Lion King II: Simbaโs Pride is a 1998 American animated, romantic, direct-to-video musical film. It is a sequel to Disneyโs 1994 animated film The Lion King, with a plot influenced by William Shakespeareโs Romeo and Juliet, and is the second installment in The Lion King trilogy.
According to director Darrell Rooney, the final draft gradually became a variation of Romeo and Juliet.
