In a now-deleted tweet, captured by thousands of screenshots, Swift reportedly said: “This is not feminism. This is not equality. Strip Katie Spencer of her medal immediately. Don’t let ‘woke’ people ruin American sports!”
While Swift, 35, has long been considered a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and feminist causes, the unexpected stance has sparked a firestorm of controversy, with fans and critics clashing over what some say is a betrayal, while others see it as a necessary stance to protect women’s sports.
