Kanye West and Diddy were once close friends and collaborated together, but their relationship has soured in recent years with the pair now embroiled in a bitter feud

Rappers Sean “Diddy” Combs and Kanye West have had a colorful history, prior to their recent feud and sexual assault lawsuits. Diddy is currently facing charges of sex trafficking by force, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy, all of which he has denied.

As Diddy awaits his trial in May, over 100 new sexual assault allegations have emerged as part of the ongoing investigation, potentially implicating others involved.

In a separate case, West’s former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, has filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexual harassment, stalking, sending disturbing texts and videos, contract breach and wrongful termination. In an updated version of her lawsuit, she alleges that West drugged and raped her at one of Diddy’s parties.

The relationship between the two rappers is now under intense scrutiny following the amendment to Pisciotta’s lawsuit. Back in 2007, West and Diddy were seen with Prince William and Prince Harry at an event honoring the late Princess Diana.

They collaborated professionally in the 2010s, with Diddy receiving a production credit on West’s 2015 single ‘All Day’. That same year, West joined Diddy’s super producer group, The Hitmen, to work on the album ‘Making Money Mitch’, reports the Express US.

Over the years, Diddy and Kanye have also been photographed with Justin Bieber, a fact that has drawn attention alongside other videos and pictures.

During a 2011 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Diddy made a cryptic comment about Bieber, who was only 16 at the time, saying: “And he knows better than to be talking about the things that he does with big brother Puff on national television. Everything ain’t for everybody.”

In March 2016, Bieber posted a photo of himself, his manager Scooter Braun, Kanye West, and Diddy praying backstage at a concert, with Kim Kardashian also pictured in another snap. Bieber captioned the post: “Uncle puff and Yeezy giving thanks to Jesus.”

At the 2022 BET Awards, West presented Diddy with the Lifetime Achievement Award, praising him as his idol and stating: “I just need to meet this man. This is my favorite artist.”

West elaborated, saying: “You see I’m saying favorite artist – everything, not specifically production, the trip. Back then there was so many rules to hip-hop, and he broke all of them.”

He even suggested Diddy influenced his marriage to Kim Kardashian, remarking: “I go to him for advice to this day. He inspired so many of my choices. So many of my life choices. My wife choices.”

Diddy once acknowledged West’s impact on his own passion for hip hop, recalling how a Kanye concert rekindled his love for the genre, similar to when he saw Run DMC in 1986. “Time has gone on since then, caught a lot of fame, fortune and a lot of blessings and hit records. Sometimes in the game you get tired and you get uninspired.

“Boom. Take you back to now. The other night I go to the Kanye West concert and I’m going there to see Kanye do this thing. I don’t have anything but high expectations, the concert changed my life. I won’t lie I was so impressed and inspired.

“It was beautiful and I fell in love with hip hop again and I want to say thank you Kanye for giving me that… you’ve given me a gift and you’ve given us all a lot. A gift. Thanks a lot man. We appreciate it, I appreciate it. I’m just keeping it real.”

However, the formerly close friends have been feuding since October 2022 after Diddy took issue at West bringing out his infamous White Lives Matter T-shirts.

Before that, Diddy had defended West’s his increasingly bizarre behavior and social media posts, calling him a “free thinker” and insisted that the rapper had been “misconstrued.”

However, Diddy couldn’t defend the controversial shirts and shared his thought about them, prompting an argument over text. During an interview on The Breakfast Club in 2022, Diddy called West’s shirts “tone deaf.”

West allegedly texted him: “Out of respect for everything you’ve meant to me I’ll be quiet as Virgil. But now I know how I’ve hurt people I love with threats.” In a follow-up text he taunted his friend: “Come do something illegal to me noooow pleeeeeeeeease.”

He shared the text exchange on Instagram with the note: “God is Love My brother misspoke to me but I still love him.” Then Diddy hit back, demanding: “As soon as I land we’ll meet face to face! ! ! Send me a address,” yet West contended that his mate was “sent by Jews” and was a “FED.

“N—- send me a address,” came Diddy’s firm text response. “Let’s stop playing these internet games. And don’t feel threatened. You’ll be fine. Just love.”

“This ain’t a game,” retorted West. “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this was war. Now gone get you some business. I’m just trying to talk to you as a black man,” Diddy reached out again. “And I’m talking to you because this is hurting our people. Stop.”

West countered: “Anything you text I will post. I love you. And you guys are breaking my heart. I accept your apology in advance.”

Come March, reports emerged of Diddy showing up to West and Ty Dolla $ign’s divisive Rolling Loud performance in Los Angeles, though rumors suggested that West “refused” the proposed catch-up with Diddy.
