Max Verstappen has said the restructuring of Red Bull following the departure of several key personnel is a “logical” move.
The Milton Keynes-based team confirmed earlier this month that Verstappen’s race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase will be promoted to a more senior role next year while continuing his duties with Verstappen.
Steve Knowles will move into the role of sporting director, along with a number of other changes within the company.

The changes come after Jonathan Wheatley was confirmed to leave the team to take up a key role at Audi.
Sharing his thoughts on the changes to select media outlets, including RacingNews365, the three-time world champion said: “These are logical steps in themselves, with certain roles being split between multiple people.”
Asked if he was involved in the decision-making process, Verstappen replied: “Of course I know that will happen.
“They explain to me what they are going to do, then I give my opinion on it.”
Although Lambiase will take on more responsibility, Verstappen is not worried about the prospect of this distracting him from his duties as race engineer.
“No, it won’t be like that. He does more than just my engineering anyway. It was well thought out and in the end it just distributes the workload better. It’s fine.”
