Six-time F1 grand prix winner Ralf Schumacher has announced Liam Lawson will replace Daniel Ricciardo after this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix.
Lawson has long been linked with a move to RB after impressing in substitute appearances during the 2023 campaign.

The New Zealander was drafted in to replace the injured Ricciardo last year before Ricciardo was recalled for the remainder of the season and retained for 2024.

However, the F1 veteran has endured a difficult campaign and his future has been the subject of speculation for some time.
Red Bull have until September to decide on Lawson’s future or risk losing him to a rival team – and according to Schumacher, the team have decided to offer the 22-year-old to the US Formula 1 team.
“Red Bull Racing is a young team, that’s what the management has always said and supported: ‘We will trust our young drivers’, and that’s why it makes sense,” Schumacher told Sky Germany.
“It’s a shame for Daniel, because we will be missing a driver who is very nice, always smiling and someone you want to see on the track.”
RB have confirmed that Yuki Tsunoda will remain with the team until the 2025 season.
