The story follows Eric Draven (Brandon Lee), a rock musician who, along with his fiancée Shelly, is brutally murdered by a gang of criminals on the eve of their wedding. One year later, Eric is resurrected by a mysterious crow, which acts as a supernatural guide, allowing him to return from the dead to seek vengeance on those responsible for their deaths.

Eric, now possessing invulnerability and enhanced strength, methodically hunts down the members of the gang, exacting his revenge in a series of violent confrontations. As he closes in on the gang’s leader, Top Dollar (Michael Wincott), Eric also reconnects with the living, particularly a young girl named Sarah (Rochelle Davis) who was close to him and Shelly.
