Stavatti pitches SM-39 Razor as replacement for RSAF F-15s
US aircraft manufacturer Stavatti is offering its SM-39 Razor aircraft as a replacement for the Royal Saudi Air Force’s F-15 fleet.
Stavatti is a very ambitious company, although it has not yet built any military aircraft, it has proposed platform concepts in several of the main tenders in recent years. Many of our readers were puzzled when we posted about Stavatti’s participation in the USAF T-X program.
There is not much known data regarding the SM-39 Razor aircraft as it does not appear in the company’s virtual product portfolio. The firm has only disclosed that it is a Mach 4+ Air Dominance Fighter offered as an Ultra Performance NGAD alternative.
The Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) is a United States Air Force (USAF) sixth-generation fighter initiative with a goal of fielding a “family of systems” that is to eventually supersede the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.
The company has also posted the rendering of a single-seat, double-engine jet with a rather futuristic shape that wears the livery of the RSAF. It has no tail rudders and has a shape that is very reminiscent of the spaceships seen in movies or video games.
